Even though the global health crisis of 2020–2021 has officially been declared over, High Point School will continually update this page dedicated to the myriad safety protocols and health measures put in place to ensure the well-being of our High Point community so that all our families and school partners have easy access to and are kept informed of both past procedures and ongoing policies enacted on behalf of the health and security of our students.
This includes annual virtual instruction plans on file with the NJ Department of Education and approved by the Bergen County Office of Education in the event that remote schooling needs to be implemented again in future.
If you have any questions or concerns or need additional information or support of any kind regarding High Point School’s closure, reopening, or contingency remote instruction plans, do not hesitate to call our main office at 973-574-0344 or email our school’s supervisor at cpulido@highpointschool.com.
NJ Hope and Healing, a program of the Mental Health Association of NJ, launched a website offering many helpful resources, along with a call back service on the Mental Health Cares Help Line, whereby any New Jerseyan can call 1-866-202-HELP (4357) for free, confidential support in English or Spanish from live trained specialists, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., 7 days a week. Services available include crisis counseling, group psychoeducational and supportive counseling, community outreach, virtual stress sessions, and webinars. Virtual drop-in support sessions are also being offered for first responders, nurses, parents, caregivers, and health care workers. Check the websites above for updates and continually added services.
Throughout 2020–2022, as the world dealt with a global pandemic that affected all spheres of society, how to best and properly continue to educate children was at the forefront of the worldwide conversation. To keep High Point School running—safely and consistently, whether remotely, in-person, or a combination of the two—we steadfastly followed the recommendations and guidelines of the New Jersey Department of Education, the most recent of which can be found here: “The Road Forward” (released in June 2021).
